My honest life

Bear blog question challenge

1 Why did you make the blog in the first place?

I used to write in my teens and I have wanted to get back to it for many years, yet what I used to write was nothing like blogs. So, how did I got into blogging? I think it's the result of cultivating an interest on humanities, reading more non-fiction and actively trying to be curious about people's ways of living and experiencing the world (instead of worrying just about myself), that I slowly transitioned from reading work articles to personal blogs about life topics.

Still, it took me a good while to get started. I try to do many things but I have too much fear of failing, but I kept coming back here to read someone else's blog, and I craved to do something of my own.

I also have some other expectations on the exercise of blogging. Let's se how it goes :)

2 Why did you choose Bear Blog?

I liked the idea of it's simplicity. I wanted something without noise, with little distractions, so I wouldn't find obstacles or excuses and just get to write and publish. But I must say, seeing the content and the interactions going on here is what really got me to want to join.

3 Have you blogged on other platforms before?

No, it is the first time I write this type of content.

4 Do you write your posts directly in the editor or in another software?

For now I am writing here, but I will be looking into other tools to help with formatting and do things nicer.

5 When do you feel most inspired to write?

It usually starts while exercising and it gets me motivated to write at night, when inspiration may hit again.

6 Do you publish immediately after writing or do you let it simmer a bit as a draft?

So far, I intend to publish right away, but it could be different at some point. I want to approach this, among other things, as a cure for perfectionism; Just publish as good enough, not doing much editing. Of course, I might feel like working through some ideas and iterate, but that's different.

(I ended up doing this in two sessions and editing more than I wanted to)

7 Your favorite post on your blog?

I never liked 'favorites' and I believe that picking and judging my posts would get me into a perfectionist mentality, worrying too much about quality.

8 Any future plans for your blog?

I just got started and I want to have a look at themes, maybe customize some details, tune the posts template...

Thanks to Ava for the promt challenge. For different reasons, some of the takes on it stuck with me and it became an argument to be here.
